Welcome to my corner of the internet!
First off, thanks for stumbling onto this page and reading this far. I'm a coffee aficionado and soon-to-be Ph.D. student in computer science. The name of this blog is a little nod to these two things. I'm not too sure what direction this blog will take, but what I can say is this: expect cafe reviews, coffee recipes, and my unfiltered* thoughts on computer science and graduate school.
My particular area of interest in computer science is cryptography, which - according to Wikipedia - is "the practice and study of techniques for secure communication in the presence of third parties called adversaries" (aka people you don't want seeing your credit card number). At some point, I'm sure that Alice, Bob, and Eve will all make an appearance on my blog!
When I'm not taking classes and conducting research, I enjoy trying new restaurants with friends, drawing, and creating detailed Pinterest boards of what I want my apartment to look like. I'm also a huge fan of minimalism and design. If any of these things sound interesting, follow along and check back for my first "proper" blog post.
